Farm Manager – Tubbo Orchard

AgField Services is looking to recruit an experienced Farm Manager to oversee the horticultural farming operations on Tubbo Orchard, located between Darlington Point and Coleambally, NSW. Tubbo Orchard includes a new 800ha almond development and a further 1500ha, which will remain dedicated to broad acre cropping.

Living on site, the focus of the role will be to manage all aspects of the almond orchard operations at Tubbo, to aid delivery of cost effective, high yield crops through efficient work practices and contractor management. Cotton and wheat are also farmed at Tubbo, so the incumbent will be required to coordinate operations and irrigation in conjunction with row cropping activities. The role will be responsible for safety, budgeting and reporting, as well as, overseeing the scheduling and staffing of orchard and farm operations to ensure operations are fulfilled efficiently, cost effectively and safely and in line with best practice farming methods.

Due to the nature of this role a degree of flexibility and overtime is required, including some weekend work and attending site when operations require urgent attention. Accordingly, the successful applicant will be well remunerated with a competitive salary package, including the provision of a comfortable modern four bedroom house on site, utilities, vehicle and mobile. 

Located between Darlington Point, Coleambally and Leeton, Tubbo Orchard is a great location for access to local provisions, whilst being in close proximity to Griffith, NSW. There are also several options for children’s schools in the area, including Yanco Agricultural High School and St Francis De Sales, both offering weekly or full-time boarding.

Requirements
  • Must reside on site
  • 5+ years experience in agricultural or horticultural operations
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Driver’s licence
  • Chemcert qualification
  • Staff management experience
  • Ability to be flexible with hours of work including overtime and weekend work

Remuneration

A generous salary including accomodation, vehicle and phone to be negotiated, commensurate with applicant experience.
