Casual Orchard Hands

AgField is seeking four casual orchard hands to work across our three almond orchards in and around the Darlington Point and Coleambally area. Workers will assist with a range of orchard operations. Preferably looking for staff who are willing to stay until end of almond harvest in April 2025 but must be able to commit to a minimum of four months.

Work is weather dependent and some days can be long – anywhere from a 7 to 12 hour shift. In the past people usually average between 40 to 50 hours per week but can be more or less. We pay above award wages for your efforts.

Full training is provided – we have had many backpackers work for us over the years and provide full training so they are comfortable with what they are doing and doing it safely. Work can be quite varied.  You may be required to work across all farms doing a variety of work including irrigation, orchard maintenance and tractor work – just depending on requirements. Work can be physically demanding so a degree of personal fitness is required.

AgField is looking to employ workers who are committed, and can contribute, to working in a safe work environment, this includes being able to understand and follow instructions, possess a common sense approach and are able to pass regular and random drug and alcohol testing.

Share accommodation is available for a weekly rate in the township of Darlington Point, NSW. Darlington Point is only a small town (1,000 people) located on the Murrumbidgee River in NSW. It is a very pretty little town – has a pub, a convenience store, butcher, hairdresser, post office & police station. We are only 30km from Griffith which is a larger regional town (approx. 30,000 people). You would go into Griffith to do your main shop, go to the cinema or doctor etc…. https://www.visitnsw.com/destinations/country-nsw/riverina/darlington-point. Applicants must also have their own vehicle so that they can drive to and from work (car is not needed whilst at work, just to get to and from work each day).

AgField is an equal opportunity employer and prides itself on a diverse and growing workforce. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who seek work in the agricultural industry or for overseas workers who wish to save money in order to continue their travels and to satisfy the 88 day rural work visa requirements. For your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with above award wages.
